Moneymoo ("Moneymoo", "we", "us") is a personal budgeting app. This policy explains what we collect, why, and your choices. Questions? Email support@moneymoo.uk.
What we collect
We only collect what the app needs to work:
- Account details — your name and email address, so you can sign in and your data can be yours across devices.
- Budget information you enter — your income, monthly bills, spending you log, savings goals, cards/debts, emergency-fund estimate, pay schedule, and currency. This is the information Moneymoo uses to work out your plan.
- Basic technical data — standard information needed to run a mobile app (e.g. app version, error logs). We do not use advertising identifiers and we do not track you across other apps or websites.
We do not connect to your bank, and we never see or move your actual money.
How we use it
- To provide the app: calculate your budget, what's safe to spend, your goals and reminders.
- To keep your account secure and synced across your devices.
- To send the reminders you turn on (a morning summary, a weekly recap). These are optional and can be switched off in Settings.
We do not sell your data, show you ads, or use your financial information for anything other than providing Moneymoo to you.
AI features
Some features use AI to help you: turning "coffee 45" into a logged expense, reading a photo of a receipt, and the coaching messages. To do this, the relevant text or receipt image is sent to our AI provider, Anthropic, which processes it and returns a result. Anthropic does not use this data to train its models. You can avoid these features by entering expenses manually and not using the receipt scanner.
Where your data lives and who processes it
Your data is stored with our infrastructure provider, Supabase (hosted databases and authentication). Access is restricted so that you can only ever read or write your own household's data. We share data only with the processors needed to run the app:
- Supabase — stores your account and budget data.
- Anthropic — processes AI requests you trigger (see above).
We do not share your data with anyone else.
Security
Data is encrypted in transit. Accounts are protected by authentication, and database access is restricted per user. No system is perfectly secure, but we take reasonable steps to protect your information.
Keeping and deleting your data
We keep your data for as long as your account exists. You can delete your account at any time from Settings → Delete account — this permanently removes your account and all of your budget data. You may also email us to request deletion.
Your choices and rights
Depending on where you live, you may have rights to access, correct, or delete your personal data. You can view and edit your data in the app, delete your account in the app, or contact us at support@moneymoo.uk for help.
Children
Moneymoo is not directed at children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect data from them.
Not financial advice
Moneymoo helps you organize your own money and offers general guidance only. It is not a bank, does not move money, and does not provide professional financial, investment, or tax advice.
Changes
If we change this policy, we'll update the date above and, for significant changes, let you know in the app.
